ABOUT US

Mark Diamond

MARK DIAMOND is the principal of Workplace Advisory Group. Mark has been an active professional in the field of workplace relations and industrial relations since the beginning of 1980. He is a fully qualified solicitor and member of the Law Society of New South Wales. Between 1980 and 1982 Mark was the in house Legal Counsel for what was then known as the Employers Federation of New South Wales (now known as Employers First). Mark then became a co-founder of Ausgroup Consulting which operated from 1982 to 2003 when it became McCarthy Ausgroup with Mark as its joint Managing Director. At the beginning of 2006 Mark accepted an offer to establish and lead the National Workplace Relations practice of Ebsworth & Ebsworth Solicitors. Mark established the highly successful practice as one of the leaders in its field.

In his career to date Mark has been involved in some of the most significant matters which have taken place in the workplace relations and industrial relations field in Australia. He has represented major corporations in the food processing, transport, building materials, maritime, IT and services industries. He has advised and guided corporations to achieve significant restructuring and change milestones through the often complex and difficult maze of Australian industrial relations laws.

Mark established Workplace Advisory Group to provide corporate interests in Australia with the opportunity to achieve the solutions they are seeking in the workplace. In many circumstances, those solutions may be obtained only through the legal system but more often than not are available through analysis and innovative thinking. That has been the basis of Mark’s long and successful career and is the foundation of the way Workplace Advisory Group services its clients.

Daniel Sleeman

DANIEL SLEEMAN started with WAG on 27 April 2009. Daniel has an extensive background in employment law and IR advice.

He has been admitted as a solicitor since 2004 but prior to that spent a number of years working for a senior minister in the Federal Government. Dan also worked for the Australian Federation of Employers and Industries and two law firms (Swaab and EI Legal) before joining Clayton Utz in Sydney.

Dan was seconded to the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations in Canberra and worked on the Fair Work legislation that is now upon us.

Dan is an excellent advisor with a good grounding in the law but an equally strong practical approach. He understands that employers need solutions rather than theoretical analyses. He also understands that compliance is necessary but no business can survive on compliance without profit!

Dan turns 30 this year and thinks that joining WAG is probably the ideal 30th birthday celebration.
